Un collectif de militants a men\u00e9 dans la nuit de dimanche \u00e0 lundi une campagne d\u2019affichage ciblant les si\u00e8ges des partis politiques \u00e0 Bruxelles, afin de d\u00e9noncer le statut de cohabitant.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Isolez les maisons, pas les gens<\/em>” ou encore “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 sous le m\u00eame toit, c\u2019est notre choix, c\u2019est notre droit<\/em>” peut-on entre autres lire entre sur les affiches. “L\u2019objectif est de mettre en avant l\u2019injustice du statut de cohabitant que vivent plus de 500.000 personnes dans notre pays<\/em>“, explique lundi le collectif dans un communiqu\u00e9. “Retirer une partie substantielle de revenus \u00e0 des personnes qui doivent d\u00e9j\u00e0 vivre avec tr\u00e8s peu, c\u2019est injuste et inhumain<\/em>“, pointe-t-il.<\/p>\n

Les membres du collectif estiment que les revenus de remplacement “sont des droits que le fait de vivre avec d\u2019autres personnes ne peut pas entacher<\/em>“. En vue des \u00e9lections de mai\u00a02024, les militants appellent les partis politiques \u00e0 supprimer le statut de cohabitant pour que tout un chacun soit d\u00e9clar\u00e9 comme “isol\u00e9<\/em>” ou comme “chef de famille<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

Le statut de cohabitant, \u00e0 ne pas confondre avec la cohabitation l\u00e9gale qui conf\u00e8re une protection l\u00e9gale \u00e0 deux personnes vivant ensemble, renvoie au fait que l\u2019on prend en compte la situation du m\u00e9nage dans le calcul des allocations de remplacement (CPAS, ch\u00f4mage, handicap\u2026). Ainsi, le revenu d\u2019int\u00e9gration sociale (CPAS) d\u2019une personne cohabitante sera moindre que celui d\u2019un individu isol\u00e9 ou d\u2019une personne ayant sa famille \u00e0 charge.<\/p>\n
